Short: My name is Dominic Brasoveanu, 38. I am a Customer Experience Expert and the Founder of ROCA. I’m grateful that my passion is also my job. I work remote. Globetrotter.

Long: I have an electrical engineering degree, but I’ve never liked the domain, so I decided to change my field into something more challenging.

During Uni, I got a job as a Designer (2006 - 2010) at an engineering company - ISPE. That was my first impact with Customer Experience. How will people find this layout? Will they understand it?

After graduating Uni, I got a job as a Project Manager at a web development agency(2011-2013) - OkapiStudio. While being there, I worked with UX designers and developers alike and I learned a lot about interfaces and what user experience means for digital products.

I was getting pretty good at my Project Management job and didn’t need as much time to finish my daily tasks. Having some spare time, I started working on my own startup - TradeCamel - a place where you could exchange goods and services without money - my baby(2012 - 2014). That’s how I got into Product Management. I got a broader view of what building a digital product from scratch entails. Because I was so enthusiastic about the idea, I convinced 24 people to work for free with me to build this exchange platform. Boy, did I learn a lot.

In the summer of 2013 I was going to the romanian seaside with a car sharing service. There was no Blablacar or similar service back then, it was all happening in a facebook group with people announcing where they were going. Blablacar saw the opportunity to categorize those trips and make them search-able. I had found a ride, and as I was waiting in the parking lot with my girlfriend at the time to leave for the seaside. There was this other person missing and was late. I didn’t judge them, but I was rolling my eyes on them being late. You know what, I don’t think there’s actually anyone reading this, so just because you made this far, you get a 10% discount if we ever work together just because you read this message. The reason for this seaside story is not random, because it turns out, the person late to arrive was Fabian Dittrich. We clicked instantly and we worked together for 9 years. At the time of meeting each other I had grown tired of needing to go to an office to do my job. I realized I was able to do it much much more efficiently from the comfort of my own schedule. 6 months after meeting each other, Fabian asked me to join him in working together as Zendesk partners with Helpando.it (2014 - 2022). I am very grateful to having this friend bring me into the world of hands on Customer Experience. By the way, Fabian is the best data migration expert out there, he’s the exclusive data migration expert with Zendesk. Reach out to him if you need data handling. Talented developer who is funny and plays the guitar. What kind of sorcery is this?

In late 2014, Fabian, myself and Vin set out to prove that working and traveling in the same time was possible - and thus StartupDiaries was born. We proved that with discipline, careful planning and hard work you don’t need a boss, nor do you need a 9-5 schedule in order to be productive. What better way to do it if not by traveling through South America for 6 months in a Land Rover Defender? It served as our house and office at the same time. I was not ok with it being our house too long because, you know, the water would run out and I wanted to shower. Apparently I was being a princess for wanting to shower daily 🙄. In 2015 I founded Kaido.me - which is still a legal entity of mine. I mostly did Product Management Consultancy with it and built SaaS apps. I didn’t do everything alone, I had the help of 30+ freelancers with various skills. I used to create teams which I managed to deliver products. One such project I did of which I am very proud is Pro-Feel - an uber for hiring security officers in London.

In 2017 myself and 2 other friends started deveasy.io a product management platform. Similar to Basecamp, Trello, Asana etc but focused on product management. We offered blueprints on how to have a successful landing page, a top notch marketing plan, a social media campaign. These are all made available and tested by Google, Hubspot etc.

Present day is about me focusing on delivering excellent customer experience. I’ve learned a lot (and still learning) and want to give back some of the knowledge I’ve accumulated. Hence me creating my persona — Dominic the CX guy.

While working with top Customer Experience and Customer Service & Support managers for digital enterprise companies, I’ve learned the tendencies and requirements of what is needed in order to deliver excellent customer experience. They all follow the same patterns and if you do it right, you can have happy returning clients.

In order to support my mission I’m doing a vlog on my youtube channel here and blog. I share various tips and tricks for how to deliver memorable customer experiences. Go get some value! 🥑🍉
